FINALLY - FLUTE REPAIR FROM AN ACTUAL FLUTE BUILDER.
A repair service that you can count on to get you back to being able to focus on what matters the most – your performance.
It’s the age old scenario – you go to take your flute out of the case like you have thousands of times before – the foot joint is loose, some of the keys are rattling, you’ve got sticky pads all over and you know you’ve torn that G# pad but you’re just trying to keep it together until things calm down enough to send it away for repairs. Sound familiar? Having spent a few months playing on a piccolo that had literally split in half, I totally get it.
I had gigs to play, auditions coming up and no time to stop and wait around for a repair I was afraid wouldn’t go well. I understand what you’re going through and I’m here to help. I’ll always be honest with you about how long your repair will take, and I’ll always make sure your flute comes back playing perfectly so you can focus on what actually matters – your performance. Offering an in depth multi point inspection and meticulous attention to the most minute changes in sound and feel, your flute will play better than it ever has before.
I begin every repair by performing a thorough play test, I make note of all observed issues and then get to work on the details. Your flute will be completely disassembled, cleaned and polished, keys will be lubricated with new synthetic oil, key fittings will be checked and pads will be inspected and replaced where necessary. Felts, foams and adjustments will be checked and regulated as well as key heights and tension as precisely as possible. The headjoint cork will be replaced and the flute will be tested, adjusted and rested as many times as necessary until I ensure it is performing perfectly.
